Effective Resume: Resume Basics
Any and every work has some do's and some don't for it successful completion. The basic things which One must do or have
- A legible font / Hand writing.
- It should be consice.
- It should look neat.
- Use bullets and tablular format as much as possible.
- Be concise and use action words (developed, handled, organized, created, motivated etc) and phrases when describing your experience.
- Please make sure the uniformity of size of the text in all pages across your resume.
- An effective resume should be in legible fonts and it should not contain too many blank spaces.
- An effective resume should not be cluttered.
- An effective resume must be in easy to read and understand language so please avoid using Jargons and complex words and phrases.
- Check your resume thrice once it is done and get it checked before sending to prospective employer.
- Please make sure that you can talk about all points in your resume with conviction.
- Get your resume checked twice / thrice.
- Make sure it includes your correct and latest contact information.
- Give your cell number(s), as well one more number where a message can be given to you in case you get shortlisted.
Not Haves:
- Unrequired blank spaces.
- Family Details.
- Unnecessary Personal details.
- Any fancy words or too much of technical jargon.
- A format which is hard to follow or understand.
- And most importantly it should not look like a boasting statement in place of a confident assertive document.
